“Save the Date” announcements can cost as much as the official wedding invitations. The postage for a standard envelope is $.44 verses a mere $.28 for a standard size postcard. The money you save is significant, especially if you are announcing your engagement to hundreds of people.

The official invitations are often a totally different style and color scheme from the “Save the Date” cards because the wedding planning stages have just begun and the colors haven’t even been decided on at this early stage. Styles of “Save the Date” cards range from fun and quirky to elegant with everything in between. Sometimes the cards even display photographs of the couple together.

You can order postcards from most office supply retailers cheap but they aren’t able to make them completely custom to your wants and needs. Our advice is to seek a graphic designer to do the job. Graphic designers who have been in the industry for a while know where to get the printing done cheap and they are starting with a two sided blank canvas just for you.  Also, since “Save the Date” cards don’t have to be a specific color or style, you can pour your personality and imagination into every aspect of your custom designed cards.
